Evie's Cocktails & Comforts

The Challenge: The site is a former Applebee’s on busy US Highway 1 with stained carpet, cluttered interior walls, and a dark and hidden bar. The client wanted a light and open bar and restaurant for customers coming home from the beach who want to have a great meal, cocktail and spend time with good company. The client also requested an outdoor area to take advantage of beautiful Rhode Island nights. 

The Solution: Since the namesake of the restaurant, “Evie,” was a native Rhode Islander who owned a beach house, the theme of the design was “my Rhode Island grandmother’s coastal beach house.” The color palette was inspired by vintage restaurants and colors were pulled from the beach - sand and water. The design is comfortable and familiar through a complete transformation of the space it once was.
